Elastic Audio is a specialized Editor that allows you to change the pitch of audio material. A combination of automatic resampling and pitch shift algorithms as well as the pitch detection for monophonic material allows the user to extensively change the pitch of the most diverse audio material.
The basics of re-sampling originate from analog technology. For example, with a tape machine it was possible to record a guitar solo slowly and to then play it back at high speed to increase the tempo. However, the pitch was also raised due to fast playback and the solo had to be recorded with the instruments tuned to a lower pitch.

In comparison to this, the pitch shifting algorithms are capable of changing the pitch of a tone sequence without influencing the tempo. Samplitude provides different pitch shifting algorithms that can be applied dependent of the available material.
Elastic Audio offers the following possibilities:

§ Automation of resampling and pitch shifting algorithms that, until now, were statically available in the Object Editor. This also includes an algorithm for format-true pitch shifts of monophonic audio material which uses the results of the pitch detection basic frequency analysis.
§ Automatic and manual correction of the pitch detection curve of monophonic audio material.
§ Automatic and manual correction of the pitch of notes of the monophonic audio material.
§ Changes to the melodies of monophonic audio material.
§ Manual correction of the pitch curve of random material.
