When I got to know that I was pregnant
It woke inside me, a whole lot of emotions
It was such a great feeling,
Motherhood had started calling
I asked myself-“Am I a mother now?”
When the phone kept on ringing for congratulation,
People started giving advice and suggestions
My room was full of baby pics
Everyone showering their blessings and gifts
I asked myself-“Am I a mother now?”
When my hand kept caressing my belly from time to time
Whole day till it was sleeping time
Then too I would dream about the baby
Would he be like his mom or daddy?
I started wondering if it would be a boy or a girl
Whether I would have to get cars or sort out curls
I asked myself-“Am I a mother now?”
When there was a change in my eating habits
And my clothes did not fit
I took a trip to a shop for mother and child
And ended up buying things only for the child
I asked myself-“Am I a mother now?”
When the baby kicked for the first time
I felt as if the clock had struck ninety nine
Each passing day brought me closer to the baby
His days and night went talking to me and his daddy
I asked myself-“Am I a mother now?”
When I saw my belly in the mirror
I knew the time was coming near
I rushed to the hospital with tears of pain
With hope of a bundle of joy to gain
Flowers and balloons were the room decorations
Everyone was waiting with anticipation
I asked myself-“Am I a mother now?”
Then the time came for us to finally meet
With the baby in my arms I felt complete
The room became alive with joy and laughter
The baby was the one most sought after
I asked myself-”Am I a mother now”?
And I finally got my answer in his eyes...
To My Mummy To Be ....
I'm getting ready for the time
I'll come and live with you.
And make your dreams of Motherhood
And little me come true.
I've packed some gurgles sweet and clear,
And filled a bag with smiles.
And a pair of lungs you ought to hear
For miles and miles and MILES.
I've packed a bunch of lusty yells,
And quite a lot of crying.
I hope it won't annoy you
'Cos it's awful satisfying.
I've packed some baby cuddles and
A simply 'normous thirst,
So many nice wet kisses,
My lugguge nearly burst.
And now I find there isn't room
For any little clothes.
So Mammy Dear, I 'cerely hope
You're looking after those.
To My Daddy To Be
My Mum to be's excited,
My Dad to be ain't sure.
But Daddy will be thankful if,
I'm only one ... not more.
I know the twinkle in your eye
Has turned into a glaze,
But Daddy, I will love you
In a thousand baby ways.
And when it's time for beddy byes
I promise not to cry.
Well ... everyone is entitled
To tell a little Lie.
And if you wonder what I'll be,
While you just sit and wait.
Well, boy or girl won't matter,
I'll be Daddy's little mate.
Before you were conceived I wanted you
Before you were born I loved you
Before you were here an hour I would die for you
This is the miracle of Mother's Love.
Did you ever think, dear Mother,
As the seeds of me you sowed,
As you breathed new life inside of me
And slowly watched me grow,
In all your dreams about me
When you planned me out so well,
When you couldn't wait to have me there
Inside your heart to dwell,
Did you ever think that maybe,
I was planning for you, too,
And choosing for my very own
A mother just like you?
A mother who smelled sweet and who
had hands so creamy white,
A tender, loving creature
Who would soothe me in the night?
Did you ever think in all those days
While you were coming due,
That as you planned a life for me
I sought a life with you?
And now as I lay in your arms,
I wonder if you knew
While you were busy making me,
I was choosing you!
