Ok, I did a search and it looks like I'm in the clear so here goes! The idea came to me a few days ago and it really took off so I thought I'd share with the rest of you This tutorial uses handsewing but machine users can give it a try.
Convertible/Infinity Dress Tutorial (Easy for Beginners!)
I actually found this tutorial while searching for this infinity dress and realized just how easy it was to make this even when I am just doing handsewing. I already made a couple of them for my Minifee. The tutorial is about the same with the tutorial linked up there, but I would be putting my own version here just easier with the pictures I took and for more BJD wise kind of thing.
So let us begin! Let us start with the materials first.
WIP: Doll Armor, Elric's black dragon armor (New Update! May31)
I have been planing on Making armor for Elric for some time. I have drawn several designs until I figured out how I'd like it.
Materials I'm using are:
~ WounderFlex ---- Which can be found here -> http://www.cosplaysupplies.com/store.php?s=M4UZ
~ Apoxy sculpt
~ Super sculptly
~ Magnets and wire
~ MR. Surfacer
~ Black Spray paint,
~ Silver paint
~ Various sizes: Deep red acyclic jewels
~ Gloss varnish (For protecting coating)
~ Black satin fabric (for lining of armor pieces)
In review of this now fairly old thread, I feel I should say a couple things as my crafting ability has grown quite a bit since I posted this. While the finished armor piece came out beautifully, the color only stayed true for about 6 months. I think this is a mixture of both the porous nature of craft foam, as well as the formula in the Krylon spray, which ate away at the Rub'n'Buff. I would also suggest that instead of sewing and backing with thin fabric, that you use FabriTac, color the piece, and then line the inside with felt to match. Much less of a chance of it rubbing off on your doll, and honestly quite a bit easier. The FabriTac will get melty when heat shaped, but will harden very well once it cools while remaining nicely flexible.
Step 1 - So far, I've only cut the shapes out, but here is a picture anyway:
I made a few hoodies / sweaters for my dolls and people wanted to know how I made them from legwarmers. I luckily had taken step by step on the second one I made and so I would like to share this very easy project with my fellow dolly lovers!
Tools of the trade!
You will need:
Scissors
1 pair (2) legwarmers
Wax Thread
(or floss, as I used XD Minty!)
Regular thread
(roughly of the colors you're using works)
And of course your doll for measuring sake

This tutorial will be a little different than my others, as it won't give any patterns. Instead I will document my creative process in making a specific outfit, and share how I figured out and did things. I'm still working on finishing the costume, so updates will be added as I go.
Many years ago, my sister and I made a one-of-a-kind art doll which was called "Think of Me". It was our version of Christine, from the stage production of Phantom of the Opera. Carlotta, the leading lady, had been injured in the famous chandelier accident, and Christine made her public singing debut as Queen of Carthage in the opera Hannibal Triumphant.
Christine had been playing the role of slave girl in that opera, but was given Carlotta's skirt to wear over it, and went out to sing "Think of Me"
Ever since getting into BJDs, I've wanted to recreate this costume for one of my dolls. In November 2010 I bought many of the special trims. I went back to the same store, but had to buy different ones as the trims used for my original were no longer available - except for the blue and red fringe.
It took some time to decide which doll to make the outfit for. I knew it would be very dramatic, and could end up quite bulky, so felt my Iplehouse girls were too realistic and with too thick a waist. My Soom and Elfdoll girls, even though they had nice slim waists, both had way too big a bust. In the end I decided that my Supia Rosy would be perfect - she had a beautiful slim body and small bust.
