Michael Hoppé is a composer/arranger/keyboard player who was born in England and now lives in Los Angeles. He has an extensive background in popular and classical music, both of which are reflected in his compositions. He was a senior executive at PolyGram, responsible for bringing Vangelis, Kitaro, The Who, Jean-Michel Jarre and ABBA to the label. His music has been described as piercingly romantic, sensuous, tender, & listeners find his music deeply soothing and gently inspiring. His music has been heard on numerous programs, ranging from HBOs "The Sopranos" to the Oprah Winfrey Show. His music has also been extensively used by such renowned authors as Julia Cameron, Sarah Breathnach & Robert Cooper. He has scored feature films including "Misunderstood" and "Eyes of the Wind", which reached the Oscar nomination short list. Hoppé and flautist Tim Wheaters album "The Yearning", garnered CD Review's CD of the Year" honors in 1994. This selection features Kenton Youngstrom accompanying on classical guitar. It appears in the compilation CD "Touching Beauty" released in 1999 with two different album art covers.
