Foundation Chain: Multiples of 8 + 2

Techniques used in this stitch (British term / American term):

Chain stitch – ch

Double crochet / Single crochet – dc / sc

Treble / Double crochet – tr / dc

3 half treble / half double crochet puff stitch – puff st: yarn over hook, insert hook into st and draw yarn up. Repeat this step 2 times more (work in the same st). Yarn over hook and draw through 6 loops, yarn over hook and draw through all loops.

Stitch – st

Row 1: Skip 2 ch, * 1dc/sc in next, 5ch, skip 5ch, 1dc/sc in next, 1ch, skip 1ch ; rep from*, 1dc/sc in next, 5ch, skip 5ch, 1dc/sc in each of the next 2ch, turn.

Row 2: Make 3ch, 4 tr/dc in 1st dc/sc below, * 1ch, 9tr/dc in space of 1ch; rep from*, 1ch, 5tr/dc in space of 2ch, turn.

Row 3: 4 ch, * 1puff st + 1ch + 1puff st in 3rd foundation ch between 2dc/sc (see pictures), 5ch; rep from *, 1puff st + 1ch + 1puff st in 3rd foundation ch, 3ch, 1dc/sc in 3rd ch, turn.

Row 4: 2ch, * 9tr/dc In space of 1ch, 1ch; rep from*, 1dc/sc in 1st ch, turn.

Row 5: 4ch, skip 2 rows, 1puff st in last tr/dc of next row below, * 5ch, skip 2 rows and work 1puff st + 1ch + 1puff st in 5th tr/dc of next row below (see pictures); rep from *, 5ch, skip 2 rows, 1puff st in 3rd ch of next row below, 1ch, 1tr/dc in 1st ch of Row 4, turn.

Row 6: Make 3ch, 4 tr/dc in space of 1ch, * 1ch, 9tr/dc in space of 1ch; rep from*, 1ch, 4tr/dc in space of 4ch, 1tr/dc in 3rd ch, turn.

Row 7: 4 ch, * skip 2 rows and work 1puff st + 1ch + 1puff st in 5th tr/dc of next row below, 5ch; rep from *, skip 2 rows and work 1puff st + 1ch + 1puff st in 5th tr/dc of next row below , 3ch, 1dc/sc in 3rd ch, turn.

Repeat rows 4 - 7 until you have reached your desired length.

In last row after group of 2puff sts work {2ch 1dc/sc in 5th tr/dc, 2ch} instead 5ch.
