"Slow Sad Love Song" was the first song Graeme Downes ever wrote, in 1980, inspired by the suicide of a friend. This classic live concert from 1976 was the last show of PeterÂ’s first solo US tour, supporting the Legalize It album, which had been released four months earlier. The rhythm section on the tour, and thus on this release, consists of Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare.
For a while, he returned to the rock scene, with a then little-known band called The Beatles as his opening act at one point. Even during those days, he retained an interest in Bible study, with John Lennon recalling Penniman backstage at a concert reading the Scriptures. In later life, Penniman told congregations at Seventh-day Adventist churches of handing out copies of Steps to Christ by Ellen G. White at concerts and personally to rockers such as Paul McCartney.

The DC Modular Collective is a group focused on learning, teaching, and performing electronic music with modular synths. DCMC meetups are open to all with an interest in electronic music, modular and other hardware synths, and hybrid systems for creating and performing music. Her father and two brothers are professional musicians and they all instilled a love of music in her from a young age. He enjoyed the guitar but then he heard the bass in Rufus and Chaka Khan's "Sweet Thing" and from that point on he knew he wanted to be a bass player. Hearing of his new obsession, his uncle, a bass player in his own right, loaned him a bass and challenged him to see what he could learn by the time he got back from the road and the rest is history. He played with the sensational vocal group Prim Degree, the cutting edge gospel group God's Creation, vocalist Gloria Brown and blues great Memphis Gold. He played with the blues group The HooDoo Kings, the 12-piece group Arayastone, the reggae mainstay Dred I Dred, the funk band Down with Gravity, jazz guitarist John Penny and a host of others. He is a consummate bass player and works at his craft continuously.
