В 1969 году церковь запретила отмечать 14 февраля, как день в честь Валентина. Со временем коммерсанты американской почтовой службы, чтобы заработать денег, раскрутили этот праздник с новой силой, утверждая, что всем просто необходимо дарить валентинки.
