Events, thoughts, and feelings preceding a suicide attempt and their significance for treatment and suicide
prevention

egmg: The main impression of the talks is that all research efforts are directed to the symptoms and not to the cause of the disease. It is like trying to influence rhizome by manipulating with a separated mushroom. They do not touch ethical aspects of the phenomenon. As I see it, suicide is in a greatest deal an ethical problem. Ethics is a mechanism regulating communication of an individual with the others. Ethics characterises behavioural and language choices made by humans that lead to certain consequences. So, ethics and then language should be the starting point of any treatment. I would extract two main reasons of suicide: fear and disappointment. So, probably we should start with studying and classifying language (in semiotic sense) expression of human fears and disappointments.
