Transylvania Trips

Пятница, 14 Октября 2022 г. 00:53 + в цитатник

The seven towns the Germans talk about are Bistrița, Brașov, Cluj-Napoca, Mediaș, Sebeș, Sibiu, and Sighișoara. Saxons were sent here in the 12th century to transylvania trips defend the region from invasions. Some of our minibus trips will also be attended by our hypoallergenic puppy Rio Mudafaca, who is also a hiking leader.
This afternoon is spent at leisure allowing you to explore the Old Town Square where you can admire the colourfully painted and ornately trimmed baroque architecture. Meanwhile, the 2-Days Halloween Tour with party at Bran Castle only departs from Bucharest. Accommodate in a hotel located in the vicinity of the castle, go on a unique night tour of the iconic edifice and then party till morning on the grounds. This itinerary departs throughout the year, on customer request. From here, travel to Sighisoara Medieval Citadel and discover attractions such as the Clock Tower History Museum. Your next destination is the Medieval Saxon City of Sibiu, where you can visit highlights such as the Bridge of Lies.

Travelling to Romania during the pandemic (February 2021 & August 2021).Being fully vaccinated and travelling from UK to Romania was easy, just a couple of extra forms and tests. For coming back to London we booked our private tests 3 days ahead of our travels and thereafter booked for London Day 2 private tests. The travelling guidance has been fluid though, always best to check the latestUK Foreign travel advice. The charms of Transylvania entice people with the imagery of haunted forests, medieval towns, vampires, turreted cliff-top castles, and the legends of Dracula. But in addition to its medieval castles and enchanting historic towns, the region also offers dramatic alpine scenery of the Carpathian Mountains with spectacular skiing and undisturbed hiking opportunities. In the heart of Romania, surrounded by Carpathian mountain range is the historical and mythical region of Transylvania.
Remote and tranquil, these areas offer travellers an experience now very rare in western Europe - exploring on foot a landscape barely changed since the Middle Ages. In early summer the mountain meadows are filled with wildflowers, including swathes of orchids, and horses and carts are carrying hay from first light. Both communities were on the Prince's schedule for this trip - his sixth in the last ten years. A family travel business driven by our love for Romania, its friendly people, history and culture, for the scenic views of this Latin island of Eastern Europe. One of us at Rediscover the World is very likely to have visited the hotels and travelled along the routes on your itinerary. Day 5 - leisurely breakfast and possibly more activities in morning.

So, I became a certified tourist guide, after graduating the tourism school 8 years ago. What was initially a hobby, turned into a part-time job, and slowly it became my main occupation. Couldn't be more happier and accomplished, doing what I love, showing my beautiful country to my guests but also travelling the world, without leaving Romania, through the eyes of my foreign tourists. On Kudu trips, you will only need money for postcards, presents to take home, the odd G & T or an irresistible ice cream. Forget about Dracula for a while and discover one of the most beautiful regions in Romania. Follow the tracks that guide you to flower-filled meadows, crystalline rivers, ancient forests, dramatic mountains, medieval castles, and Saxon villages, and discover a simple but enchanting world.
Perhaps revisit some of the magnificent sites from yesterday’s tour - or make your own discoveries. We are delighted to announce that our Romania holiday is now online, with amazing discounts and flexible booking conditions. Flights from the UK, accommodation and transfers are included in the price. This day trip from Sibiu is an incursion to Romania antique history.

Today we will visit the Corvin Castle, the largest gothic castle in Transylvania. We will leave Sibiu in the morning and after a one and a half hour driving, we will arrive in Hunedoara. The city is an industrial town laid around the 15th-century castle. We will visit the castle, learning more about the Transylvanian history and different stages of construction of the Castle. And yes, don’t worry, we know all the anecdotes and little stories that will make this trip much more interesting and funny.
After Transfagarasan we can stop at Curtea de Arges to visit the monastery. The 16th-century church, a masterpiece of Romanian architecture, was chosen by King Carol to be the necropolis of the entire family. Transylvania is such an incredible region, make sure to discover this culturally rich region while visiting Romania.

Inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, its fortified church and timeless cobbled streets sit amongst a rural landscape that takes you back to a Romania that existed pre 1900. We enjoy a horse cart ride through the surrounding pastures and forests of the Transylvanian Hills, before taking some time to explore the church and the village. Tonight, we will stay in one of the traditional Saxon houses to delve deeper into this well-preserved way of life. This short day trip will reveal the diversity of the historical land of Transylvania. You will explore medieval villages surrounded by thick forests, majestic fortified churches, and one of the few citadels that remained inhabited to this day. After breakfast we will transfer you to the village of Biertan to visit one of the largest fortified churches in Transylvania.
Once under Hungarian rule, Cluj still has a large Hungarian diaspora and you’ll find this dotted around the city centre – like the Hungarian state theatre and opera. The lively city of Cluj is a great option to start or end your trip, served by a decent number of low-cost flights. Thanks to a large student population it has a young, buzzing vibe and with plenty of outdoor spaces made us feel we spent more time seeing it. We did the loop clockwise from Cluj Napoca which has flights to London, but you can also start in the capital Bucharest with a few more hours of driving to account for. Walking through Sighisoara’s twist of medieval streets is a tranquil, fairytale-like experience; you’ll feel utterly transported. In fact, its towers were once packed with weapons and emergency supplies in anticipation of Turkish attacks.

Rumour has it that in times of the Turks the inhabitants of this village helped the Impaler to flee to the mountains and he, as a sign of gratitude, gave the neighbours their grazing land. So, I usually spend my summer free time hiking, discovering new trails, breathing fresh air and charging my batteries for the days to come. We understand that planning a trip to a country like Romania it could sometimes present as a challenging task, considering there is a multitude of options available. For that reason, and because we don't want that a tour with us would be like a blind date, we would like to invite you to get in touch if you have any queries and also to read the REVIEWS from our former guests. If you don’t mind being roomed with another single traveller of the same gender, you do not need to pay the supplement.
Bucharest likes big things – the tour will also stop by the huge Piata Unirii, one of Europe's largest squares, and continue on to the ‘Ceausima’, Bucharest's 12-storey Palace of Parliament. The former dictator ordered the construction of this monster, a building of staggering scale and opulence that includes 1,100 rooms and 4,500 chandeliers. Very good itinerary, lots of walking as you expect to see everything. Excellent guide Dan and driver Boris a well planned holiday. I was a solo traveler on this trip and found the tour and hotels very good. On the way to Brașov, stop at Prejmer for one more fortified church.
Peles Castle - the summer residence of the Royal Family - is a neo-Renaissance masterpiece. Sharp spires, timber-framed panels, and detailed brickwork surrounded by thick forest in every shade of green - you’ll be forgiven for thinking you’ve walked straight into the pages of a storybook. But the inside is even more impressive, with every corner lavished in silk rugs, Murano glass and polished marble.
