Materials

• Aunt Lydia's Classic size 10 crochet cotton (350 yds per ball)
  • 1 ball #1 white
• Size 7/1.65mm steel crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
• Sewing needle
• 2 glass 2 1/2-inch round ornaments
• 2 pearl 3/8-inch shank buttons
• White sewing thread

Gauge
Rnds 1-2 = 1 1/4 inches across

Pattern Note
Join with a slip stitch unless otherwise stated.

Special Stitches
Picot: Ch 4, sl st in last st made.
Picot A: (Ch 5, sl st, ch 7, sl st, ch 5, sl st) in last st made.
Picot B: Ch 6, (sl st, {ch 4, sl st} twice) in 5th ch from hook, ch 1.

Ornament A
Rnd 1: Ch 10, join in beg ch to form ring, ch 3 (counts as first dc), 23 dc in ring, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. (24 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, for ch lp extensions, (sc, ch 34, sl st in 11th ch from hook, {ch 5, sk next 5 chs, sl st in next ch} 3 times, ch 5, sk last 5 chs, sl st) in first st, sc in each of next 3 sts, *(sc, ch 34, sl st in 11th ch from hook, {ch 5, sk next 5 chs, sl st in next ch} 3 times, ch 5, sk last 5 chs, sl st) in next st, sc in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around, join in beg sc. (24 sc, 6 5-lp extensions)
Rnd 3: Ch 1, *working in lps of next ch lp extension, (4 sc, picot A -- see Special Stitches, 3 sc) in each of first 4 ch lps, (4 sc, picot A) 3 times in end lp, 3 sc in same lp, working down opposite side of extension, (4 sc, picot A, 3 sc) in each of next 4 ch lps, sl st in each of next 3 sts, rep from * around, join in joining sl st of last rnd. Fasten off.
Place over glass ornament pushing hanger on ornament through opening at center of rnd 1. Pull extensions to bottom of ornament and tack tog. Sew 1 button to center bottom.

Ornament B
Rnd 1: Ch 10, join in beg ch to form ring, ch 3 (counts as first dc), 19 dc in ring, join in 3rd ch of beg ch-3. (20 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, for extension, (sc, ch 28, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, sl st) in first st, sc in each of next 4 sts, *(sc, ch 28, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, sl st) in next st, sc in each of next 4 sts, rep from * around, join in beg sc. (20 sc, 4 extensions)
Rnd 3: *Working in chs on opposite side of next extension, sl st in each of next 3 chs, [ch 3, sk next 2 chs, dc in next ch, picot B (see Special Stitches), 5 dc around post of last dc made, sk next 2 chs, sl st in next ch] 4 times, ch 7, working in sts of extension, sl st in first st, [ch 3, sk next 2 sts, dc in next st, picot B, 5 dc around post of last dc made, sk next 2 sts, sl st in next st] 4 times, sl st in each of next 2 sts, sl st in each of next 2 sts between extensions, picot (see Special Stitches), sl st in each of next 2 sts, rep from * around, join in joining sl st of last rnd. Fasten off.
Place over glass ornament pushing hanger on ornament through opening at center of rnd 1. Pull extensions to bottom of ornament and tack tog. Sew 1 button to center bottom.
