Уже в тот момент, когда было принято решение о том, что Тарья покинет Nightwish, стало интересно следить за тем, как два "лагеря" сумеют использовать свои хорошо знакомые имена. Тарья расправила свои крылья и начала собирать опыт профессионалов со всего мира. Она ловко оставила позади жанр Металл, тем не менее, она смогла удовлетворить своих верных поклонников. Одного альбома стало достаточно для того, чтобы достичь репутации исполнителя. Она добилась уважения и признательности в кулуарах артистов высшего эшелона. Поэтому для своего нового альбома "What Lies Beneath" она смогла позволить себе более чем два года производства, что, безусловно, не призиралось бы её бывшим местом работы. Ну, на сколько я знаю, Маттиасу, Клаусу и Рудольфу действительно нравится её голос, и мы захотели сыграть вместе несколько песен. И нам нравится насколько она хороша, и именно поэтому они позвонили ей, потому что она соответствует уровню этого вида музыки и песни. Я думаю, что это сотрудничество очень приятное и очень хорошее.

I. Musical background, career and inspiration.

1. So, first of all, when and why did you start learning music? Was it Your parents’ initiative or your own decision, like, e.g., back at the age of 5 you already knew You’re going to become a musician and tour the world? And if it was Your decision solely, did Your parents support this passion and sense of purpose?

Yes, I have wonderful parents who have always supported my need to be a musician. I grew up surrounded and immersed in music. But it was my Dad in particular who shaped my destiny. He encouraged me from a very young age to pursue my passion. He is still a serious music lover and we play music together whenever we are together.

Сначала был Нейл Армстронг и Аполлон 11. Достоинства были бесспорны. Молодой поклонник научной фантастики Марко Хиетала был очарован выходом на Луну и всей удивительной поездкой туда. В четвертом классе астронавт потерял свое место. Самый младший ребёнок пары учителей из Tervo слушал радио со своим старшим братом Sakari и услышал, что Rainbow "Kill the King" вышли в продажу.

- Музыка была громкой. Она, казалось, поднималась выше Луны - в мир фантазий, - объясняет Хиетала.

Вокалист Ronnie James Dio был похож на гоблина и пел о полете как ветер. В то же самое время Хиетала раскачивался на качелях на адской скорости. Он кричал "kill the king”, и соседи задавались вопросом, что происходит.

- Can you tell me how is the album be different overally from My Winter Storm?

- The biggest difference is that now I am writing songs on my own and with the other people. I am very-very involved, I am producing my own album, I am writing lyrics, I am completely and all the time involved, it will really sound like as I wish and as I want it. It has been a very nice process for me to be involved that much and see how everything comes together, this is kind of like the first time for me even though I have an album already. It was a big step, a huge step to do my first album, but this time I feel like my soul, my own spirit is on the album. The songs are very strong, there is a message in along the way, it is not a concept album, but there is a very strong message. It is like combining all the elements that were on My Winter Storm again, like rock, heavy, movie music, but coming more alive this time. It has been a really nice experience so far and I am willing to learn all these things from all the people I am working with.

My dear blog readers and also Nightwish fans;=)

I have held a little secret for you all for some time now, but today I feel I want to share it with you all. As you all know, I am very private and dont want to share to much about my personal life, but due to some speculations and since I am so happy I have decided to tell my secret:

Last autumn in the middle of my demo recordings of my solo album, I started to feel very, very tired and also nauseated. I took a pregnancy test and guess if me and my bf was really surprised to see that I had gotten pregnant. Since I had decided to not have any more children than my son, it was totally not planned, but after the very first shock, it felt really, really good;=)

Now I have almost done half the pregnancy and I am feeling extremely good, but its due to this I decided to not do the solo this year. I am sure you all can understand this decision better now and I do promise to release the songs at another time;=)

NIGHTWISH lead singer Anette Olzon was interviewed on Finnish national radio station YLE X3M, the Swedish-language radio, on September 18, 2009 — the day before the band's special homecoming show at the sold-out, 11,000-capacity Hartwall Arena in Helsinki to mark the end of the group's colossal "Dark Passion Play" two-year world tour.
