Happy New Year! I didn't forget about you all over the Christmas holidays. I went home to England. I would have let you know that I was disappearing off, but I've read that people like to find out where you live and burgle your house if you post about a holiday on the internet. Not that anyone would find anything worth stealing in this house. My kids have made it their mission to destroy anything of value (yes, I might still be a bit bitter about the hole put in the leather armchair). Still, it's embarrassing when people break in and then don't take anything. I'm still upset about the people that decided that my bike wasn't worth stealing. If you're going to break the lock off a shed, at least take the rickety old thing for parts or something...
.
Anyway, I'm back. I'm sure I'll be boring you shortly with the few photos that I took. That will have to wait until next time, though, as I have promised you a giveaway. Yes, I have finally reached my 99th post. It's only been a couple of years since I discovered blogs and a new world opened up to me. I've learnt to sew, knit and crochet through your tutorials and links. I'm not even too sure why I started blogging, except that it might be the closest thing that I get to grown-up conversation around here some days. Surprisingly enough though, I haven't been talking to myself. So, thank you - for listening, for your support and for understanding why a grown woman might still be making homemade ornaments for her Christmas tree.
Have you seen the IPCA Synergy2 Exhibition? They asked nearly 60 amazing artists to explore collabroations with polymer clay and mixed media. They also asked me. :-) I'm humbled to have my name listed with so many polymer clay greats.
I have a rabbit family that needs a new good home. They are very cute and quiet by the way. A new born rabbit is on the arms of rabbit mum. Do you want to take care of them? Available on my
I found a cool tutorial on this site Design Sponge My first thought was to share it with all of my miniature friends. Lovers of miniature, France and Champagne of course. Now we have one more reason to drink more of the golden liquid;) The tutorial is made by Amy Merric. Enjoy:)
Below here you will see my attempt using the Champagne corks. I had a party here in my house on Friday and people kindly gave me the wire parts. Of course with a funny expression..”ehI heard that you collected these..!?” I have adapted the tutorial a bit to suit my taste. I used the lover part only and took a new part of wire that I bended and glued down to the seat for the back. The middle back part is made by cardboard and glued on also. Spray painted and aged to look like rust. Lavender French garden. Smells nice.
The soap is also made by me by the way. That is another hobby of mine. Making cold processed soaps. So much better than the store bought, but that is another story. Hope you like my chairs, and do try it. It was very fun.
Sometimes I get ideas that I need to follow through with, even though I'm not sure why.
Materials - One and a half packages of beef jerky ( I ate the other half ). 12 inches tall.
I got him to balance for about a minute at a time. Just long enough to take a few photos.
This may be the first jerky sculpture on the internet. I couldn't find any others in a quick search. I found a dried beef dress, but nothing else. If it is the first, then goody for me, and I deserve some kind of prize, like a couple of packages of good beef jerky. Feel free to send me some.
