Paul Stone. Fine Art
Artist Paul Stone
Site, born in Vermonter, having grown up in Westminster, has been painting ever since he can remember. He is a graduate of both Dartmouth College and Tufts University. Pauls paintings are mysteriously evocative and yet very structured in a classical reality. He is best known for his vibrant portrayals of the Vermont landscape. Paul paints the world around him, whether it is the landscape of Vermont or the seacoast of Maine. He is moved by the play of color and light on forms and often chooses barns or sailboats as the structure on which to work. His bold strokes of color and the play of light give his paintings a luminous glow.Paul works mostly in his studio, composing his works from on sight sketches. He draws from nature, abstracting and composing on the spot, but the actual painting is done in his studio, where he can concentrate on color and form to create visual excitement. He has a masters control of his mediums, both watercolor and oil. Pauls paintings are in numerous corporate and private collections around the world. Locally, his work is represented by Gallery Northstar of Grafton Vt., Vermont Artisans Gallery of Brattleboro, Vt. and Bayview Galleries of Brunswick and Camden, Maine.
