STITCH EXPLANATION:

sc2tog (sc decrease) Insert hook into st and draw up a loop. Insert hook into next st and draw up a loop. Yarn over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.

NOTES:

1. Fox is worked in the round. Work in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed. 
2. Ears, Tail and Arms are worked separately, then sewn to Fox.

HEAD/BODY
With A, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in first ch; place a marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around – 12 sc.
Rnd 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around – 18 sc.
Rnd 4: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around – 24 sc.
Rnd 5: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * around – 30 sc.
Rnds 6–9: Sc in each sc around.
Change to B.
Rnds 10–12: Sc in each sc around.
Following package directions, attach safety eyes in center of head on Rnd 10.
Rnd 13: *Sc2tog, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * around – 24 sc.
Rnd 14: *Sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around – 18 sc.
Stuff head firmly.
Rnd 15: Sc in each sc around.
Change to C.
Rnd 16: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around – 24 sc.
Rnd 17: Sc in each sc around.
Change to D.
Rnd 18: Sc in each sc around.
Change to C.
Rnds 19 and 20: Sc in each sc around.
Change to E.
Rnds 21–23: Sc in each sc around.
Begin stuffing piece and continue to stuff as you work.
Rnd 24: *Sc2tog, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around – 18 sc.
Rnd 25: *Sc2tog, sc in next sc; rep from * around – 12 sc.
Rnd 26: (Sc2tog) around – 6 sc.
Fasten off.
Cut yarn, leaving a long yarn tail.
Weave tail through last rnd and pull to gather.
Knot securely.

EARS (make 2)
With A, ch 3.
Row 1: 2 Sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc in next ch – 4 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each st across – 8 sc.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each of next 4 sts, sc2tog – 6 sc.
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each of next 2 sts, sc2tog – 4 sc.
Change to E.
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog twice – 2 sc.
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog.
Fasten off.

ARMS (make 2)
With E, ch 2.
Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in first ch; place a marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Sc in each sc around.
Change to C.
Rnds 3-5: Sc in each sc around.
Fasten off.

TAIL
With A, ch 5.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across – 4 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st – 6 sc.
Change to B.
Row 4: Ch 1, rep Row 3 – 8 sc.
Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Row 6: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in each of next 4 sts, sc2tog – 6 sc.

FINISHING
Stuff Arms lightly and sew to sides of body. Sew Ears to head and Tail to body. With E, embroider a straight st triangle nose between the eyes.
