Yury Shcherbakov was born in 1972 in a Cossack family who lived in the area of the Khoper river. Today he is a unique folk singer and Russian accordion player. He is the soloist of the Ancient Cossack Song Ensemble “Stanitsa” (Volgograd) and the ethnographic Cossack Folk Ensemble “Buzuluk” (Novoaninskiy, Volgograd region). He took part in a big number of cultural projects, being a laureate of many folk festivals and competitions. Participated in several documentary and feature films, among them “Ataman”, “Batiushka”, “Burnt by the Sun-2”, etc.
