La drogue est normalement proscrite par la religion des djihadistes. Mais ces derniers en prennent pour voir leurs performances décupler et leur peur disparaître lors des combats. Outre l'euphorie, le produit permet de ne pas ressentir le sommeil ou la faim. Les effets peuvent durer jusqu'à 48 heures. Les témoignages de personnes ayant croisé des drogués au Captagon sont édifiants. "On les frappait et ils ne ressentaient pas la douleur. La plupart d'entre eux rigolaient même alors qu'on les bourrait de coups forts", décrit auprès de Reuters un officier syrien.

Selon FranceTVinfo, qui cite le psychiatre libanais Ramzi Haddad, les consommateurs peuvent aussi éprouver "des symptômes de délire, d'agressivité et des troubles du comportement". Le Captagon ne serait pas difficile à produire et ne nécessite pas de compétences de chimistes.

Pour l'heure, rien ne dit que les terroristes de Paris en ont pris. Tout juste sait-on, d'après les médias belges, que les frères Abdeslam tiennent un bar soupçonné d'abriter des consommateurs de drogue.

Des analyses sur les corps des kamikazes

Contactée par L'Express, une source judiciaire affirme que des analyses toxicologiques ont été effectuées sur les corps des kamikazes retrouvés morts. Les résultats ne sont pas encore connus. Le fait que les cadavres soient très dégradés, en raison de l'explosion, n'empêche pas de telles expertises. "C'est une procédure classique", explique à L'Express Jean-Marc Laborie, médecin légiste à l'Institut médico-légal de Paris (IML). "Tout les prélèvements organiques, comme le muscle, gardent la trace d'un toxique: que ce soit amphétamines, cocaïne ou cannabis. On peut déterminer l'heure de prise."

Dans les faits, de nombreux combattants en Syrie consomment du Captagon, surnommé la "drogue des djihadistes". "Absorbé par voie orale [via des cachets] ou à l'aide d'une seringue, le Captagon est principalement utilisé, comme toutes les amphétamines, en tant qu'excitant, stimulant et anorexigène", résume le docteur Marc Valleur, médecin psychiatre à Paris dans une interview au site Les clés du Moyen-Orient. Cette potion magique est plébiscitée par les groupes tels que l'organisation Etat islamique (EI), qui a revendiqué les attentats, et le Front al-Nosra. Le jeune homme qui a commis l'attentat de Sousse (Tunisie) en aurait par exemple consommé.

La fénéthylline, parfois aussi écrite phénéthylline ou fénétylline, connue aussi sous les noms d'amphetaminoéthylthéophylline et d'amfétyline, est un composé organique constitué d'une molécule d'amphétamine et d'une molécule de théophylline liées par un pont éthyle. Elle se comporte donc comme une prodrogue de ces deux molécules2,3. Elle est vendue comme psychostimulant sous les noms de Captagon, Biocapton et Fitton
La plupart des sources s'accordent pour dire que la fénéthylline a été inventée par l'entreprise Degussa AG en 1961[Contradiction]4.

Toutefois, certaines sources évoquent une existence antérieure5. Le Captagon est utilisé par les étudiants en période d'examen dans les années 1953-1954 et au-delà, il était alors en vente libre
il serait produit depuis 2011 en Bulgarie dans un “laboratoire de l’Alliance atlantique”8,9. La production en aurait commencé avec l'importation depuis l'Allemagne de l'Ouest
