Worked in the round from bottom up.

Cast on 106 sts on circular needle size 4 mm/US 6. K 1 round, continue in rib = K 1/P 1 for 8 rounds.

Then K 1 round while at the same time inc 30 sts evenly = 136 sts. Switch to circular needle size 5 mm/US 8 and continue with diagram  (= 8 repetitions on the round). Diagrams show 1 repetition of pattern.

REMEMBER THE GAUGE! When diagram has been worked, 24 sts remain on needle. Work 1 round where all sts are K2 tog around, cut the thread, pull it through the remaining sts and tighten tog. 
The hat measures approx. 22 cm / 8¾” vertically.
