Foundation Chain: Multiples of 36 + 5

Popcorn of 4 tr/dc: Work 4 tr/dc in the same space of 1 ch. Drop the loop from your hook. Insert your hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first tr/dc of the group.

Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch. Make 1 ch.

Popcorn of 5 tr/dc: Work 5 tr/dc in the same space of 1 ch. Drop the loop from your hook. Insert your hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first tr/dc of the group.

Grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch. Make 1 ch.

Row 1: 5 ch skip, *1 cl in next ch, 2 ch, 2 ch skip; rep form *, 1 cl in next ch, 1 ch, 1 tr/dc in last ch. Turn.

Row 2: 1ch.

Making a shell: 3 ch, 1 dc/sc in space of 2 ch; rep from * 4 times, 5 ch, skip space of 2 ch and work 1 dc/sc in next space, 3ch, 1dc/sc in next space of 2ch.

Turn and work 10 tr/dc in space of 5 ch, 1dc/sc in second dc/sc below, 3 ch, 1 dc/sc in third dc/sc. Turn.

Work 2 tr/dc in the same st - 2 times, 1 tr/dc in next st + 2 tr/dc in the same st – 3 times and 2 tr/dc in the same st - 2 times (you now have 17 tr/dc) . Then make 1dc/sc in space of 2ch, 3ch, 1 dc/sc in next space. Turn.

Work 2tr/dc in first tr/dc below, 15 tr/dc in next sts, 2 tr/dc in last tr/dc, 1 dc/sc in fourth dc/sc, 3 ch, 1 dc/sc in fifth dc/sc (you now have 19 tr/dc). Turn.

Work 19 tr/dc with 1ch between, 1 dc/sc in space of 2 ch, 3 ch, 1 dc/sc in next space.

Continue making shells to end of the row. Last dc/sc work in fourth ch of first row. Turn.

Row 3: 5ch, * 1tr/dc in second tr/dc, 1ch, {work pn4 + 2ch in space of 1 ch} rep 14 times, pn4 + 1ch in next space of 1 ch (you now have 16 popcorn sts) , 1tr/dc in eighteenth tr/dc, 3 ch, 1 dc/sc in dc/sc below, 3 ch; rep from*. Make 1tr/dc in second tr/dc, 1ch, {work pn4 + 2ch in space of 1 ch} rep 14 times, pn4 + 1ch in next space of 1 ch, 1tr/dc in eighteenth tr/dc, 1 d.tr/tr in first ch. Turn.

Row 4: 5ch, work over each shell {1tr/dc + 2ch in space of 2ch – 14 times, 1tr/dc in last space of 2 ch}. Make 1 d.tr/tr in first ch of third row. Turn.

Row 5: 5 ch * 1tr/dc in second tr/dc, 1ch, {work pn5 + 3ch in space of 2 ch} rep 10 times, pn5 + 1ch in next space of 2 ch, 1tr/dc in fourteenth tr/dc; rep from*, 1 d.tr/tr in fifth ch. Turn.

Work 2 tr/dc n first tr/dc below, 7tr/dc, 1 tr/dc in third ch (you now have 10 tr/dc), turn.

4 ch, work 9tr/dc with 1 ch between, 1 dc/sc in space of 3 ch, 3 ch 1 dc/sc in next space of 3 ch.

Continue making shells like in row 2, but work dc/sc in space of 3 ch.

At the end of row work next:

3 ch, 1 dc/sc in space of 3 ch; rep from * 4 times, 3 ch, 1d.tr/tr in fifth ch below.

Turn and work 3 ch, 5 tr/dc in space of 3 ch, 1dc/sc in second dc/sc below, 3 ch, 1 dc/sc in third dc/sc. Turn.

Work 2 tr/dc in the same st 2 times, 1 tr/dc in next st + 2 tr/dc in the same st – 2 times and 1 tr/dc in third ch (you now have 9 tr/dc). Turn.

Work 3ch, 7 tr/dc in next sts, 2 tr/dc in last tr/dc, 1 dc/sc in fourth dc/sc, 3 ch, 1 dc/sc in fifth dc/sc (you now have 9 tr/dc). Turn.

Work 10 tr/dc with 1ch between (last tr/dc work in third ch). Turn.

Row 7: 3 ch, *work pn4 + 2ch in space of 1 ch; rep from * 6 times, pn4 + 1ch in next space of 1 ch (you now have 8 popcorn sts) , 1tr/dc in ninetieth tr/dc, 3 ch, 1 dc/sc in dc/sc below, 3 ch.

Make 1tr/dc in second tr/dc, 1ch, *work pn4 + 2ch in space of 1 ch; rep from * 6 times, pn4 + 1ch in next space of 1 ch (you now have 8 popcorn sts), 1tr/dc in third ch. Turn.

Row 8: 5 ch, {1tr/dc + 2ch in space of 2ch – 6 times, 1tr/dc in last space of 2 ch}.

Then work over each shell {1tr/dc + 2ch in space of 2ch – 14 times, 1tr/dc in last space of 2 ch}.

At the end of row make {1tr/dc + 2ch in space of 2ch – 7 times, 1tr/dc in third ch}. Turn.

Row 9: *work pn5 + 3ch in space of 2 ch; rep from * 4 times, pn5 + 1ch in next space of 2 ch, 1tr/dc in seventh tr/dc.

Repeat row 2 – 9 until you have reached your desired length. For row 2 work all dc/sc in space of 3ch.

Increasing pattern

This pattern can be useful If you are planning to make a skirt. Foundation chain is multiples of 24 + 6.

Crocheting of the skirt begins from the waist line. For increasing work in first row: 5 ch skip, *1 cl. in next ch, 1 ch, 1 ch skip; rep form *, 1 cl. in next ch, 1 ch, 1 tr/dc in last ch. Turn.

In next row work all dc/sc in space of 1ch.
