«Как научить ребенка говорить по-английски»
Мы закончили публикацию основного практического курса «Как научить ребенка говорить по-английски». Теперь приступаем к дополнительному курсу, разработанному по вашим просьбам. Курс состоит из пяти уроков и предназначен для организации изобразительной деятельности детей на английском языке. Если вы работаете по принципу "один родитель - один язык"*, то организовывать занятия изодеятельностью по-английски можно в любое время. Если же в вашем случае имеет место принцип "одна ситуация - один язык"** , то заниматься следует в "английские дни".

* Принцип "Один родитель - один язык": один из родителей всегда или периодически говорит с ребенком на английском языке. У ребенка в сознании формируется связь "личность - язык".
** Принцип "Одна ситуация - один язык": с ребенком говорят по-английски оба родителя но в определенной ситуации или обстановке ("английская комната", например). В сознании ребенка язык связывается с конкретной ситуацией или обстановкой.

Как принято по-английски жалеть стукнувшегося, упавшего или испугавшегося ребснка?

Дорогая Наташа! Отличный вопрос! Детки, особенно маленькие, падают и пугаются так часто, что эта лексика пригодится Вам практически в любой ситуации. Ведущая рубрики, Оксана Сорока, планирует посвятить один из следующих уроков походу к врачу и более серьезые ушибы-царапины, что где и как болит мы рассмотрим там, а сейчас пожалеем Вашего малыша. :)
Американец, правда, прежде чем жалеть, обязательно спросит: "Are you OK?" (Ты в порядке?), независимо от ситуации и возраста ребенка. Если утвердительного ответа ("I'm fine", "I'm all right", "I'm OK", "Sure") не последовало, он станет выяснять, что случилось и насколько это серьезно:
Ты споткнулся? - Did you trip?
Ты упал? - Did you fall?
Ты ударился? - Did you hurt yourself?
Больно? - Does it hurt?
Где болит? - Where does it hurt?
Ты ударился... (коленкой, локтем, головой, и т.п.)? - Did you hit your... (knee, elbow, head, etc.)?
Покажи... (коленку, локоть) - Let me see your... (knee, elbow, etc.)
Тебя кто-то ударил? - Did somebody hit you?
Тебе страшно? - Are you scared?
Ты боишься собаки? - Are you afraid of the dog?
Если ничего серьёзного не случилось, начинаются утешения:
Ничего страшного - It's ok
Это просто маленькая царапинка - It's just a little scrapey
Всё пройдет так быстро, что ты и не заметишь! - You'll be fine in no time!
Вставай на ножки! - Get on your feet!
Иди ко мне! - Come here!
Я тебя обниму (поцелую) - I'll give you a hug (kiss)
Я возьму тебя на ручки и покачаю - I'll cuddle you

В словарях почему-то не пишут некоторых слов. Извините за любопытство, но как будет, например, "попа", "описаться" и т.д.? Не думаю, что англоязычные родители говорят анатомические термины, типа: "А теперь помоем твой зад..." А сама я додуматься не могу, помогите!

Спасибо за вопрос - это именно то, о чем я писала Оксане в своих первых письмах: мне тоже показалось, что лексики недостаточно. Написав несколько словариков, могу сказать, что очень сложно предугадать, какие именно слова и выражения будут еще необходимы, т.к. курс рассчитан на родителей, хорошо владеющих языком и предполагается, что многие выражения им известны. Я стараюсь давать фразы, которые я использую в ситуациях урока со своей дочкой, но если их не хватает и если словарь не может дать однозначного ответа или возникает вопрос по поводу употребления того или иного выражения, пожалуйста, спрашивайте :-)
В данном случае Диана абсолютно права: словарь вряд ли даст "обиходные" слова типа "попа". Хотя, как ни странно, англоязычные родитель скажет не как-нибудь, а именно "А теперь помоем твой зад..." - это абсолютно корректная фраза :)
Итак "туалетная тема" (в фигурных скобочках слова, которые я использовала бы при разговоре с докотором)
попа - {bottom - самое корректное и наиболее употребительное слово}, behind, butt, ["литературно" buns - "булочки"]
все, что в трусиках (для детей, без анатомических подробностей)* - nether region, {diaper area}
вытирать попу - wipe [one's] bottom
туалетная бумага - toilet paper, американцы часто говорят toilet tissue
унитаз - toilet
горшок - potty
детское сиденье на унитаз - potty seat, toilet ring, training seat
"делать дела" - do [one's] business
по-большому (по-маленькому) - big (small/little) business
пИсать - to pee (разг.), {to urinate}
описаться - to pee [oneself], to wet [oneself]
но чаще всего американцы говорят, что у ребснка "случилась авария" - he had an accident или что он "намочил штанишки" (кровать) - he wet his pants (bed)
какать - to poop (разг.), {to have bowel movements, to move one's bowels}
какашка - poop (разг.), poo-poo (разг.), dud (разг.), {stool}
понос - diarrea [амер., англичане говорят также, только пишут немного иначе]
запор - constipation
У тебя запор? - Are you constipated?
мокрый (описанный) подгузник - wet diaper
грязный (обкаканный) подгузник - dirty (poopy - разг.) diaper
А теперь помоем попу - And now let's wash your bottom
Я тебя отшлепаю по попе - I'll whip your behind
! Шлепать деток непедагогично и часто нерезультативно, я даю это выражение только для того, чтобы показать использование слова behind.

Спасибо большое за ваши практические советы-уроки. Мне все очень нравится, но не хватает одного момента. Как сказать ребенку "нельзя", "не нужно", "не балуйся", "перестань" и т.п.? Ведь это бывает необходимо.

Действительно, сказать "нельзя" порой просто необходимо. К счастью, сделать это довольно просто. В большинстве случаев "нельзя" по-английски звучит как простое "нет" - "No" (например, если ребёнок просит что-то, чего нельзя). Если ребёнок балуется, американский родитель скажет: "Stop it!" ("Прекрати!") или "Don't [do it]!" ("Не [делай этого]!"). Если родительское терпение на пределе, можно сказать "That's enough!" ("Довольно!/Хватит!").
Существуют ситуации, когда чего-то нельзя делать никогда, ни при каких обстоятельствах (например, брать спички). В этом случае используются словосочетания "you mustn't" (you mustn't touch the matches!) или "must never" (you must never touch the matches!).
Когда "нельзя" не очень строгое (скорее просьба: "не надо..."), часто употребялется конструкция "You shouldn't...". Обычно в этом случае последует разъяснение, почему этого не стоит делать здесь и сейчас. ["Строгое нельзя" должно пониматься и приниматься без объяснений ;)]
Итак, допустим, Ваш малыш играет с телефоном, а Вы ждёте важного звонка. Сказать "нельзя" можно следующими фразами:
Перестань играть с телефоном! - Stop playing with the phone!
Не играй с телефоном! - Don't play with the phone!
Нельзя играть с телефоном! - No playing with the phone!
Не нужно играть с телефоном [сейчас] - я жду важного звонка. - You shouldn't be playing with the phone [now] - I'm expecting an important call.
Хватит играть с телефоном! - Enough playing with the phone!
Если по вашим домашним правилам ребёнку запрещается играть с телефоном независимо от ситуации, можно также сказать:
Нельзя играть с телефоном! - You mustn't play with the phone!
Никогда нельзя играть с телефоном! - You must never play with the phone!
Вместо "Не балуйся!" англоязычные родители говорят "Behave yourself!" ("Веди себя [прилично]!").
