We present a tutorial by Olga Kotlyarova how to create a mini-artbook!
For this project we'll need:
- pages of our future book (pages torn from the existing book, office paper or scrapbooking paper)
- strong thread and a needle,
- glue (for binding or simple white glue)
- cardstock
- fabric, paper or leather for the cover of the book
The pages of our future book should first be distressed with coffee and stamped if you like. It's better to be done before you start binding (see photo 1)

Stitch together all the other booklets the same way, tie the knot and cut the thread (photo 9)

Cover the spine with glue and adhere a piece of wrapping paper or cheesecloth. I glued a little piece of an old book (photo 10 and 11)

Let's make the cover. Cut two rectangles having the size a little bigger than the booklet (1/5" bigger) out of cardstock. Place them on fabric or paper which you've chosen for cover so that the distance between them will be booklets thickness + 1/8"-1/5". If you use thick fabric (or leather like in my example) you may need to cut the corners like it's shown on photo. Don't cut them too close to the cardstock. If the fabric or paper is thin don't cut the corners (photo 12)
Cover with glue and bend in the excess (photo 13 and 14)
If you'd like to use brads, stitching or anything you'll need to cover from the wrong side - it's the right time to do it now. You can also glue trims or eastic band for closing the book now. (photo 15)
Glue the fly leaves. They should have the size of the booklet. Glue the first flu leaf to the cover (photo 16)
Cover the second side of the fly leaf with glue and adhere the booklets (photo 17 and 18)
Glue the back fly leaf to the booklets and then to the cover (photos 19, 20, 21)

Embellish the cover if you haven't done that yet (photo 22). And the book's ready! Be inspired and happy crafting!
