M I C H E L M O R E A U
Born April 25, 1940, in Angers, MICHEL MOREAU was self-taught beginning at a very young age. After studying at the l’E N P d’Armentieres Nord he began his own Architecture and Design firm in 1963. He was responsible for more than 800 projects in Maine and Loire and throughout France. Moreau had his first exhibition in 1962 and continued to work both as an architect and artist.
MICHEL MOREAU’S studio was situated in the ancient Moulin of Soucelles from 1970 to 1984 and later relocated le Var for a few years. In 1982 he received the Silver Medal Award from the Salon des Artistes Francais in Paris. He also participated with 9 other artists to create a new movement “Les Compagnons de la Loire”. In 1983, he met Gonzague Saint Bris and Jean Pierre Rosnay, founders of the poets club in Paris; it was there he organized an exhibition in the setting of “Vivre en Poesie”.
MICHEL MOREAU settled in Bargemon in the Var in 1985 and created that same year a school of painters at Bouchemaine in Maine and Loire. In July 1990 he was the invited guest of honor at the Salon du Chevalet in Tours.
MICHEL MOREAU has had numerous exhibitions throughout France, Luxembourg, Canada, Switzerland, Japan and his first exhibition in the United States at CHETKIN GALLERY in Red Bank, New Jersey in 1998, 2001.
