The Parisian Sweetheart Toddler Slouch is the first free pattern I made from the received yarns.

For this hat i used 1 skein of Red Heart Lisa. This yarn is pretty and inexpensive. You will make a hat for under 1.50$.
Materials used:
- 3,5 mm crochet hook (used for the ribbed cuff)
- 4 mm crochet hook
- 1 skein of yarn, DK (3) weight. I used Red Heart Lisa yarn, color Ice cream Pink.
- small amount of white yarn for the flower)
- tapestry needle to sew in the ends
- scissors

Gauge: Using a 4 mm crochet hook:
18 sts (6 pattern repeats) x 9 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm

Hat Size: toddler size 2-5 years.
You can easily adapt the size of the hat for larger sizes.
The easiest way is to use a thicker yarn and larger hooks.
Or you could make more rows for the cuff, having in count that the total numbers of rows (total stitches for the hat worked around the edge of the hat) + total numbers of rows divided by 2 should be a number multiple of 3 so you can work the pattern stitch for the sides. The pattern stitch used for the sides is called  "Paris stitch".

Ex. here: the total number of rows= 60
60+ 60/2= 60+30= 90 that is multiple of 3.

Not tested, but a larger size will be: 66 rows for the cuff (that means 66+33=99 sts for the sides) Please let me know about your results if you will try a larger size.

 Finished Dimensions:
The ribbed cuff measures
unstretched 48 cm around, but has a lot of stretch and it is 3 cm tall.
Slouch width: approx. 56 cm
Total height: 19 cm

Stitches, terms and abbreviations:
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- hdc: half double crochet
- dc: double crochet
- sk: skip
- ch sp: chain space
- sl st : slip stitch
- beg: beginning
- group: (2dc, 2ch, 1sc) into same st.
- blo: back loop only

NotesThe hat is started at the cuff, working rows of sc blo back and forth. Folding the piece in half you will slip stitch the short rows together to form a tube. After this, You'll start working in rounds, from the edge of the ribbed cuff.
The cuff is it a little time consuming, but after You'll finish the cuff, the hat will work up very quickly.
In the pattern stitch, each round will start with ch 3 that will be counted as the first dc, or you could replace the ch 3 with chainless starting double crochet (csdc). (I worked with csdc.) Each row will end with a sl st into the top of ch 3/ alternative into the top of csdc.
For a nice seamless look, start a new round with sl st 2 times till you get to the chain space of the first group.

Pattern:
1) The cuff, worked in rows

I worked the cuff the same way as for my Hypnotic Slouch Hat Pattern, only made fewer rows and used a smaller hook size. (See the photo collage from the Hypnotic Slouch Hat)
With a 3,5 mm crochet hook start with 9 ch.
Row 1: 1sc into back loop of the 2nd ch from hook and 1sc blo in each chain across. Chain 1, turn. (8 st)

Row 2-60: 1sc blo in each st across. Chain 1, turn. (8 st)

Fold the piece in half to form a tube. Working through both loops of the stitches of each side, slip stitch across. (8 st)
Because the joining looks better on the wrong side, turn the cuff inside out and continue working. The wrong side will be from now on the right side.

2) Working in rounds around the edge of the cuff:
Switch to hook size 4 mm!

Round 1: ch1, work 60 sc evenly spaced around one edge of the ribbed cuff; that means 1st in each ridge and 1st in each back ridge of the cuff, sl st into top of first sc. (60 st)
Round 2: ch3/ alternative csdc, 1dc into same st, *1dc in next st, 2dc in next st *, repeat from * to * ending with 1dc into last st. (90 sts)

Round 3: ch3/ alternative csdc, (1dc, 2ch, 1sc) in same st as the beg ch3, *sk 2sts, (2dc, 2ch, 1sc) in next st *, repeat from * to * till last 2 sts, sk last 2sts, sl st into beg ch3/csdc. (30 groups total)

Round 4: sl st into next dc, sl st into next ch space, ch3/csdc, (1dc, ch2, 1sc) into same ch sp, *sk next sc and 2dc, (2dc, ch2, 1sc) into next ch sp *, repeat from * to *, till last ch sp, sk last sc and 2 dc, sl st into top of ch3/csdc.

Round 5-12 repeat as round 4.
After round 12 beginn the decrease rounds at the top of the hat.

Round 13: sl st into next dc, sl st into next ch space, ch4 (count as the first dc and ch1), 1 sc into same ch space; * 1sc into next ch sp, (1dc, 1ch, 1sc) into next ch sp *, repeat around from * to * ending with 1sc into last ch sp, sl st into 3rd ch from beg ch4.

Alternative round using csdc at the beg of round: sl st into next dc, sl st into next ch space, csdc, (1ch, 1sc) into same ch sp, * 1sc into next ch sp, (1dc, 1ch, 1sc) into next ch sp *, repeat around from * to * ending with 1sc into last ch sp, sl st into top of csdc.

Round 14: sl st into first ch sp, ch3/csdc, (1 ch, 1sc) into same ch sp, * sk next sc, (1dc, 1ch, 1sc) into next ch sp*, repeat around from * to * till end, sk last sc, sl st into top of ch3/csdc.

Round 15: sl st to next ch sp, ch1, 1sc into same ch sp, * ch1, 1sc into next ch sp *, repeat around from * to * ending with ch1, sl st into top of first sc.

Cut yarn leaving a long tail. Thread the yarn through the tapestry needle. Turn the hat inside out and stitch around the top opening though the top of the sc stitches and ch 1 spaces. Pull yarn to close the top of the hat. Stitch one time more around to secure. Cut yarn. Weave in the ends.
