Photograph of Tsesarevna Maria Feodorovna (1847-1928), later Empress of Russia, and the Princess of Wales (1844-1925), later Queen Alexandra. They are standing together, Tsesarevna Maria Feodorovna on the left holding a book. Both are wearing long coats and fur hats and scarves. Maria Feodorovna and Queen Alexandra were the eldest daughters of Christian IX of Denmark. Maria Feodorovna was the consort of Alexander III, Emperor of Russia and Queen Alexandra was the consort of King Edward VII. The sisters maintained a close relationship throughout their lives.
