Поль Синьяк (фр. Paul Signac, 11 ноября 1863, Париж — 15 августа 1935, Париж) — французский художник - неоимпрессионист, представитель направления пуантилизма.




Синьяк предпочитал работать над своими картинами в мастерской, зато на натуре он делал рисунки и писал прекрасные акварели.

Рисунки Синьяка — быстрые зарисовки увиденного пейзажа. Они точны в деталях и в то же время свободны, обобщенны. Линия в них, то напряженная и гибкая, то легкая и кудрявая. Что бы ни было изображено — великолепный бриг или рыбацкие лодки, гавань с маяком или склон холма, — каждый набросок и прост, и изыскан, в каждом чувствуется рука мастера.

Свежесть впечатления, яркое чувство сопереживания увиденному мотиву несут акварели Синьяка. Синьяк изучал этот вид изобразительного искусства. Он написал небольшую книжечку о голландском художнике XIX века Й. В. Йонгкинде, прекрасном мастере акварели, который жил во Франции и оказал влияние на молодого Моне.

Так же как и Йонгкинд, Синьяк в своих акварелях изображал море с кораблями. И здесь уверенность его руке художника придавал опыт морехода. В акварелях Синьяк отражал и впечатления от путешествий, и замыслы будущих картин.

Темперамент активного творчества не покидал художника вплоть до его смерти. Поль умер в Париже. Последнее, что его волновало, - это «сможет ли он писать еще». Похоронили Синьяка в Париже на кладбище Пер-Лашез. Один из современников так сказал о художнике: «Синьяк любил море, искусство и человечество, три бесконечных горизонта».
