Tarja en Venezuela/Entrevista en Buenas Noches (Globovision - 18/05/2009) Part 1
Man 1: She comes from Finland, from Transylvania, what are you? (intelligible babbling. He puts the cross sign, pretending possibly, that Tarja is a vampire)
Tarja: Nothing happens (a way to say "it's all cool, relax").
Woman: She says nothing happens, kiko, take it easy.
Man 1: Sure?
Woman: Here with us we have a singer who's come from so far, from Finland and she's fascinated with Venezuela, she loves the weather, she wants to go to the beaches if she hasn't been there already... and she's called "Tarjia turunen"... I have a bit of as problem pronouncing that.
Tarja: "Tarja"
Woman: "Tarja"
Man 1: Tarja, like "Tarjeta" (it means card).
Woman: And she's here because she's got a beautiful voice and she'll delight us with that talent, and she's accompanied by a very special translator.
Man 1: And didn't you work on "Lord of the rings?"
Woman: Noooo.
Man 1: No? With the... (and he makes a gesture with his hands indicating the long elven ears, perhaps referring to Arwen?)
(Translator translate to Tarja)
Tarja: No.
Man 1: Purple hair, blue eyes, white as milk.
Woman: No kiko, unfortunately, no.
(Uninteligible -for me- words here)
Woman: And who comes with her, the pianist, she's also from Finland, but do you know what's the name of this pianist from Finland?
Man 2: Very hard to believe--
Woman: She's named Maria.
(laughter )
Woman: Welcome Maria (in English) Welcome to Venezuela. Well now we're going to have a small chat with Tarjia, which name we find very difficult to pronounce, but she is called the godess of rock.
Man 1: (looks at tarja and yells) Oh my God a devil!
Man 2: The Go-dess!
Man 1: Oh I'm sorry
Woman: Let's ask her why she's called the godess of rock.
(translator asks Tarja)
Tarja: I don't know (laughs) I really don't know. My career started, I beleve, 12 years ago in world rock. I'm a lyrical singer...
Woman: Yeah because your voice is lyrical. (duh...)
Tarja: yes, yes, yes.
Woman: How does lyrical adapt to rock?
Tarja: Very well! You'll listen to it tomorrow. No, on Wednesday 17th.
woman: Can you give us a small demonstration?
Tarja: Eh... in some minutes!
Woman: In some minutes, okay,
Man 1: And you're no longer girlfriend of (I have no idea what he says).
Tarja: (sings) What do you want to heaaaaar?
Man 1: (Screams in mocked terror)
Man 2: For God's sake Kiko, how can you make that horror gesture before such a beautiful voice? You are a person absolutely contradictory in life.
woman: What did you think about our beaches? You were already in Venezuela in a past opportunity.
Tarja: Yeah, yeah, two years ago and we were... I was with my husband here in Venezuela for a month... a month traveling in car and... in many beaches.
Woman & man 2: Margarita.
Tarja: No... no... I don't drink---
Man 2: No, Margarita Island!
Tarja: No, no, not Margarita Island, but [we went to] los roques.
Woman: Los roques! Beautiful
Tarja: Beautiful, a paradise.
Man 2: Tarja, I was telling our translator that when I saw you, you reminded me of a Finnish group, Lordi, who won Eurovision and he tells me that you also participated in Eurovision for Finland.
Tarja: Oh, so many years ago.
Man 2: And that you almost won.
Tarja: Yes but it was so long-- it was terrible! Ay ay ay!
Woman: Terrible?
Tarja: Yes! Oh the pain! (laughs) But it was a very strange experience.
Man 2: And how is it that you caught this Argentinian that you have for a husband?
Tarja: Love is as it is. You never know.
Man 2: Where did you get him? Did you find him on the internet?
Tarja: No no no...
Man 2: (pretends to write on keyboard) "I want an Argentinian".
Tarja: In Chile.
Woman: In Chile?
Tarja: Yes.
Man 1: Tarja, I see you have bad taste, look this way (points at himself and then he apparently waves at Marcelo and says:)
Man 1: Cheers, brother! Hey, hey, enough! (he pretends - or not? - That Marcelo got angry at his comments).
Man 1: sing a little bit so we can see how's the voice...
Tarja: What?
Man 1: A little singing...
Woman: He says that you have to choose him... for you.
Man 1: As if you were in love.
Tarja: You have a little bit too much make up for me, for my tastes. (Bingo! LoL!)
Man 2: (he says something I can't get).
Tarja: Sorry! Sorry.
Man 1: Just a bit! (in childish voice) Come oooon!
Man 2: Tarja, sing for us! Delight us with your voice.
Woman: Just a little bit
Tarja: but Whyyy? I'll sing later.
Man 1: Just a biiiit.
Woman: (she says a proverb that is something akin to: "Good things come for those who wait") Why are you in Venezuela? Why did you decide to come so far to show your music?
Tarja: I have many fans here, I'm very happy, I'm very happy honestly to be here for the first time as an artist and I hope my concert will come out very well. Many fans are waiting.
Woman: That's so good.
Man 1: I am a rocker, but if I don't hear you sing I won't be able to tell everyone the wonder you are.
Man 2: Go to her show this 20th---
Man 1: And the piano why is it here then?
Tarja: You have to come to my concert.
Man 2: She's inviting you.
Man 1: But the show is almost over and we're going to commercials and then? Just a bit, before the cut, a little one.
Woman: Or express something to him with your singing.
Tarja: (sings, I actually don't get her lol!)
------------------------
Man 2: My friends we're about to be delighted by the voice of Tarja from Finland.
