Kyle Polzin was born in Cuero, Texas in 1974. At a young age, his family moved to Victoria, Texas where he grew up working closely with his father to develop his artistic skills. Craftsmanship is not uncommon in the Polzin family. Kyle’s father is a gifted artist and both of his grandfathers were skilled craftsmen. They were also serious outdoorsmen. During his childhood, Kyle spent countless days on the Texas coast near Port O'Connor fishing the bays and the surf with his family, and made regular trips to his grandparents to explore the countryside near Cuero. He attended public schools all the while, graduating from Victoria High School.

     In 1992 Kyle entered Victoria College and began his formal training in the fine arts, with emphasis in oil painting under the instruction of Larry Shook. After graduating from college, he had numerous opportunities to continue his artistic learning experience. In 1996 he participated in instructional sessions under the master painter, Dalhart Windberg. This highly motivational learning experience helped to launch Kyle’s career in Fine Art.

     In November 2007, Southwest Gallery hosted his first major one-man show, which featured twenty-seven original works by the artist. Due to the high interest in the show, the paintings were available for purchase by draw only. The show was an overwhelming success. All twenty-seven pieces sold on opening night.

Luis Meléndez is regarded as the leading Spanish still life painter of the 18th century. He was one of a family of painters, but his promising career in figure painting ran aground after his father's dispute with the Academy in Madrid. He petitioned the King on two occasions to become a court painter, but failed to gain an official post, and died in poverty.

Chicago artist Susan Kraut's work features paintings which combine and explore ideas about the genres of 'Still Life' and 'Landscape'. Susan is a widely respected artist who has taught painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago for 25 years, influencing a generation of young artists through her emphases on careful observation and the poetic qualities and effects of light.

 Eric Christensen began painting professionally in 1992. Since that time he has enjoyed amazing success and a growing reputation as a celebrated Wine Country Artist. Self-taught, he invented a watercolor technique that allows him to create images of vibrant color that go beyond the look and depth of a high quality photograph. Christensen now finds himself unique in his field. In fact he is the only known artist capable of hyperrealism through the use of standard watercolor.
Christensen began to develop his interest in painting, as well as botany, classical music, and gourmet cooking as a child in Salt Lake City, Utah. Over time he has acquired a commanding knowledge in each of these fields, which has blended to make him the preeminent artist of today. In addition to his interests, Christensen also derives inspiration from the wine country surrounding his home which is invariably portrayed in his paintings. As Christensen asserts, “it’s about the lifestyle”.
Once he realized that he could concentrate his passion for painting into a career, Christensen opened his own Art Gallery in Yountville, California, a small picturesque town in the heart of the Napa Valley. This venture proved very successful netting Christensen exposure in national magazines and newspapers and a national television spot on “WINE COUNTRY LIVING”. Christensen however, decided to close his gallery in 2003, allowing him to devote his full attention to painting. Christensen continues to paint stunning images that remind us of the Wine Country lifestyle and delight those who collect his art. He now offers his extraordinary artwork in galleries throughout the US.
Christensen’s “wine art”” begins where most contemporary wine artists leave off. Eric loves to capture the romance of the wine country, which he points out, , “is so much more than just the wine”. Collectors of Christensen’s art typically own several of his creations and enjoy the varied themes they portray; lifelike landscapes and intimate still life paintings that incorporate a variety of elements including food, flowers or fruit with appropriate background settings.
