Where are they from?
They were all born elsewhere but technically...
Shawn & Pat from Baltimore, MD.
Everyone else from Raleigh, NC.

How did they come up with the name Alesana?
The band is named after the street Shawn & Pat lived on, in Maryland, when they began writing for the band.
The street name is Aliceanna

How did they meet?
Shawn and Pat met in Baltimore and were in a pop-punk band together. They moved to Raleigh where the music scene was better. Within two weeks of moving they met Dennis, at the restaurant where Shawn worked and Daniel, the original drummer, at a party. Later they met Steven who was invited to a practice at their storage space on halloween of 2004. Adam was in a local band playing guitar in Raleigh whom Alesana played with frequently. Jeremy, the final member, joined the band in Jan.2006. Jeremy and Steven used to be in bands together when they were young. They called Jeremy when they needed a drummer and he quickly joined the band. Steven left the band June of 2007 and Shane took over on bass. The guys knew Shane from his former band, Your Name in Vain, and prior to joining Alesana, he toured with them selling their merch.

If I go to a show will I be able to meet the band?
It's almost impossible NOT to meet them. They're always walking around before & after the set and are always up for talking to their fans, signing things and of course... taking pictures.

How do you pronounce Alesana?
Alice-anna.
It's ales-ann-a. not ale-sawn-a.
