Всем привет!
The Force, группа, в которой я играл до того как вступить в AFI, возвращяется впервые за 10 лет, чтобы отыграть три специальных шоу\концерта.Я первый раз выступаю на одной сцене с Matt Wedgley (Viva Hate), Mark Roustabout (The Roustabouts) и Chad Cox, так как мы расформировались в 1998, и я действительно волнуюсь! Мы надеемся, что эти показы дадут нашим болельщикам (так же как те, кто пропустил The Force еще тогда), шанс видеть хардкор таким же, как мы играли это 10 лет назад.

Как я уже говорил, The Force будет только играть три концерта. Первый будет в нашем родном городе Grass Valley, Калифорния, сопровождаемый еще двумя Калифорнийскими концертами. Мои извинения всем, кто находится вне Калифорнии. Мне жаль, что мы не можем играть всюду, но мы должны ограничить это следующими шоу:

Hunter Revenge
Hunter Revenge is Hunter's (from AFI) side project which I feel could arguably demonstrate the direction of AFI's future albums. I am bored of the seemingly endless arguements over whether Hunter is straight edge and what straight edge entails. So I propose the alternative discussion on AFI's potential to be a Prince cover band. What follows is the justifications for this claim, the benefits and the potential drawbacks.
Many AFI fans have no memeory of the 1980s and may be less than convinced that they were a good thing, Hunter's song '24 Hour Party Zone' pretty much sums up a prevaling attitude among certain sectors of society: "i'll tell you something, i like your smile. if you're not busy, i'll be here for a while... you gotta come on down and strut that sexy style. cause last night's party is still going on. it's a twenty-twenty-four hour party zone." Those people still not convinced need to look at the current 1980s revival that is ongoing in popular culture. Examples of this being the resurgence of He-Man, Care Bears, Danger Mouse and Thundercats.
Hunter Revenge is a solo project that Hunter started a couple years ago. On the Hunter Revenge CD he apparently plays all the instruments, and does all the programming and all the synthesizers. In a couple of interviews he has stated that "I really went for an early 80's production aesthetic when making the CD. It gets a lot of comparisons to Prince, and I sing in a high falsetto mostly. It's all influenced by stuff like Prince, Michael Jackson, Cool In The Gang, and other bands from that period of time. There is some new wave influence too."
It is the Prince influences that hold the key to AFI's future. There are a number of reasons why AFI could become a successful Prince Tribute band. For example they have the scarily high pitched vocals and dubious fashion/dress sense. On 'Sing the Sorrow' Davey proved he could yelp a la Michael Jackson, this is obviously essential in any decent Prince tribute band. A new Prince Tribute AFI's schedualed appearences at the Reading and Leeds festivals would help Prince fans saddened at Prince's no-show for Glastonbury and would enusre thousands of adoring fanatics flocking at AFI's feet. This may have the downside of their houses getting treated as shrines, much as Prince's 'Purple House' was until it was torn down.
Hunter's song 'Do u want 2 know' features the lyrics "making love on the 4th of july, rockets exploding in the sky. ohhh! now i hear you got another guy, is it true?" This is the kind of semi sleezy, semi romantic nonsense that Prince has made a pretty good living out of. And while this is quiet far removed from AFI's current lyrics cetain Prince songs could concevable be actual AFI ones, for example in 'I would die 4 u' the lyrics are "I'm your messiah and you're the reason why...You're just a sinner I am told, Be your fire when you're cold"
Both artists have been forced to explain their choice of names on numerous occasions. Prince's squiggle was a source of much puzzlement, as if the meaning of AFI. The transistion would be complete if AFI followed Hunter's emualtion of Prince in terms of grammer, for example the Prince song 'All the critics love U in New York' compared to Hunter's 'Why Can't U Understand?'
There can be no more perfect put down to anyone who accuses AFI of having sold out than the (Prince) lyrics: "Purple love-amour is all U're in it 4, But don't show it, The reason that U're cool Is cuz U're from the old school and they know it"
Hunter said that when writing for Hunter Revenge he mentally placed himself "in the early 80's but at my current age...I put myself in to a Hunter Revenge character, and most of the songs are written like stories...little narratives with lessons. It was really fun to put myself in a character, and I think it was a good songwriting exercise." And since he came up which lines such as "she made her way straight 2 the couch. I said, "you're drunk, girl U better leave now... or lord knows what we'll do" I think everyone can guess why writing this stuff was fun.
